Giving Back

Jim has been farming for 25 years plus; has been active with the Wisconsin Potato & Vegetable Growers Association.

Jim was honored as being the Wisconsin Representative at the 2011 Potato Industry Leadership Institutes. And it doesn’t stop there. MBF is a local contributor to the Boys & Girls Club, local schools, libraries, Special Olympics and the YMCA.

Jim runs by the motto, “It’s better to give than to receive.” So when he heard of a neighboring farmer working with Second Harvest to provide nutritious carrots to families in southwestern Wisconsin facing hunger, he knew he wanted to get involved. “There should be no reason for anybody being hungry in America, it’s inexcusable!”

“Be generous with people! Generosity may help change a life. At the very least it will be a high point in their day or week. You may never know the full impact your generosity can have in someone’s life, but you don’t need to. Simply enjoy living generously and share in the sheer Pleasure of Giving.”
