Mortenson Bros. Farms is looking for a full-time Lead Farm Mechanic to provide leadership and guidance to farm shop. Qualified candidates will have/be:
- Safety orientated
- Self-motivated / self-starter / organized
- Drivers license required with good driving record
- Tools required. (tools will be replaced as needed)
- A person dedicated to the farm shop, but willing to help where needed at times
- Remain in the shop during planting / harvesting to help with rebuilding and repairs as needed
- Take field calls as needed
- Work with shop manager to plan farm equipment repair/rebuild schedules
- Act as lead mechanic with guidance from the shop manager when operators are helping in the shop to guide them as to what will need attention and how it will be documented
- Finalize and update equipment checklists as needed with help from managers, mechanics, and operators input
- During planting / harvesting, assist in field transportation between sites as needed
- Work with parts inventory specialist for accountability and ensuring proper parts are ordered
- Assist with shop organization and cleaning as needed
- Willing to work weekends on a rotational basis as needed
This person will be groomed to take over as shop manager in the absence of the manager (vacations or other), or when the shop manager job opens.
Position includes full benefit package: health, vacation/holiday, retirement. Compensation commensurate with experience, targeting $45k-$55k annually.
